Queen St and East St Intersection Closes for Construction
The Queen Street and East Street intersection is now fully closed as the major East Street reconstruction project moves into its next phase.
The closure began Monday, August 31, and is expected to remain in place for approximately eight weeks. Drivers are being asked to follow posted detours while crews continue work in the area.
Construction includes sewer and watermain work, road base construction, curbs and sidewalks, along with landscaping preparations.
Queen Street remains open, but traffic around the construction zone is changing as crews work through the intersection.
The overall East Street reconstruction project is expected to reach substantial completion by late fall, with final asphalt work scheduled for 2027.
