Commemorating the 150th Anniversary of Treaty 6 in Song
August marks the 150th anniversary of the signing of Treaty 6. In 1876, the historic nation-to-nation agreement was signed between the Crown and First Nations communities, spanning central Alberta and Saskatchewan. Two Treaty 6-based artists have come together to commemorate the anniversary through song, with the release of a single titled “1876”.
